This is the second in the series by this author and I just can't get enough of her writing! I read both the first and now the second one in a day, each. I was absolutely hooked on the main character Geri and her family and friends. They're people I wish I lived by and could hang out with. I can't say anything better about characters in a book more than that. This book continues months after the first book, when Geri and her little family move into their own home and she meets the neighbors. Only the neighbors have a very intricate and sad past. The couples get on very well together but soon there are mysteries for Geri and James to solve, and Geri is back in the middle of some nasty goings on, but also seems to have a knack for solving some cold case mysteries with James. There is so much going on in this book but it all meshes so well it's easy to keep everything straight, the writing is done so well. There's everything to love about this book and this series. I'm starting the third already.Product details

Wow! This is the 2nd book of Netta Newbound's I have read and it didn't disappoint.
This book had more twists and turns than a mountain road and I loved every word of it! I was kind of hoping that Geraldine and James were going to have a quiet life together but I should have known better.... There were so many plot twists and I loved them all. I was at the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this book and I have to say that I really want to know what happens with these two in the future; please tell me there is another book in the pipeline?
A beautifully written book with good, strong characters that you can relate to, even if some of them weren't very nice people!
A highly recommended read.
Book 2 of the Cold Case Files continues Geraldine (Geri) and James Dunn as an investigative team researching unsolved historical murders. Their non traditional methods invite the oddest characters to behave in very dangerous ways. You should read book #1 first if you need the picture in full detail; however, enough information is given to pick up here and love it as a standalone. There's something about This Australian writer's style that hooks & draws you in. This is a 5-Star must read.
Loved it. What a humdinger of a mystery. It has twists and turns I never saw coming.
Geraldine and her daughter Grace have moved areas with a man she met in the previous book.
They neighbour Lee is a friendly chap and welcomes them with open arms. He's busy renovating a cottage ready for when his wife returns after being away for six years (not going to spoil your read and say why) but his luck runs out when a young girl knocks on his window one night in the pouring rain. In his attempt to make everything perfect for his wife, things are turned on their head and soon spiral out of control.
Another fabulous read from Netta, love, love, love this ladies writing.
Another great read!!! I love James and Geraldine and how connected they are to each other. Highly recommend this book!

A book I couldn't stop reading. A fast moving story, it kept me reading to see what happened next. When I found out what happened something else came into the story to keep me reading. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and fast paced action.
